Child Action North West - Time Line

VIEW PROJECT GALLERY

To celebrate 100 years of the organisation and the opening of their new learning centre, Child Action North West contracted Action Factory to produce a piece of participatory public artwork. Emma and Kerry worked with the young carers, looked after children, their families and CANW staff to research the history of the building which used to be an orphanage. The focus was what has changed and what has stayed the same. Findings were depicted in clay and collage set in to resin.

At the opening event people who had been involved with the organisation over the years were asked to come up with slogans to represent the future for CANW. From these oak and mosaic pointers were created for a piece to go in the wall. The group were also involved in the installation on to the stone wall. The project resulted in a high quality long lasting piece of artwork, which participants and staff feel proud to have been involved in.
