Dracula - Community Performance

Dracula took place in Witton Park in July 2005 as part of Blackburn with Darwen's Arts in the Park Annual Festival. The project was a collaboration between Action Factory Community Arts, Talia Theatre and Avanti Display. The project invloved over 300 people from the local community and was seen by 5000 people over two nights.

The aims of the project for participants were to provide an opportunity for people to learn new creative skills such as costume making, puppetry and performance, to provide an opportunity to work with professional theatre and community arts professionals, to give them an opportunity to showcase their talent and to work with differenct cultures and new community groups.

The performance was very successful with all groups taking part feeling they achieved something great and they are motivated to move on to the next stage in their future as performers.
