Young people taking part in the Interfaith Project also designed a symbol for peace amongst all people. Their carefully carved clay works were cast in bronze and set within a bronze spiral to remind future generations that fundamentally we are the same, we may have different religions or no religion at all, we may be from a myriad of cultural backgrounds, like and dislike many different things but as people, here for such a short period of time we should learn to respect each other and to celebrate and enjoy our differences.
The bronze spiral of peace is situated at the entrance to the playground in Corporation Park in Blackburn. The Interfaith project was funded by Government Office North West and Facilitated by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in partnership with Action Factory.
"Many lives...... many faces........ all belonging to Blackburn with Darwen."
