Tay Street Trail - Summer Celebration Event
Artists have been working with children and parents at Tay Street SureStart Children's Centre in Burnley on a summer arts scheme during August. The summer activities will culminate in a Grand Summer Celebration Mini Festival held on Saturday 30th August, from 1pm to 3pm. The event will be held on communal ground near to Tay Street Children's Centre and Howard Street Health Centre. All are welcome to join in the fun and celebrate summer. Come along to join in with make and take art activities, circus skills workshops, general singing and dancing and much more.

 

The Art Shop Closing Party
The Art shop project was a real success with hundreds of people taking part. A closing party was held on 31st July to celebrate everyone's acheivement and to thank all the artists, volunteers and participants who took part. Around 80 people attended and the evening was a great success, with more people viewing the beautiful work that has been produced over the recent months.

  

Update - The Art Shop - Celebrate Blackburn 2008 

The Art Shop will now be housed in Waterloo Pavillions on Church Street, Blackburn. There will be an exhibition of work by local community groups and a series of five exciting artists residencies. Come along to a workshop and make your own creative contribution alongside one of the five artists. Watch the exhibition grow throughout the month of July. The workshops are suitable for all ages and are free of charge.

 

Open workshops will be held every weekend in July including: 5/6  12/13  19/20   26/27 plus Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July, from 10am to 4pm

Event - Celebrate Blackburn 2008:
A community festival taking place in Blackburn Town Centre throughout the month of July. Action Factory Community Arts will be opening an art shop in the town centre - in the building that used to be Vall Hall, opposite the old town hall. The art shop will be open every Saturday and Sunday during July and there will be a different resident artist there each week, providing the opportunity to take part in exciting arts activities. Watch this space for more information on the workshops!
