After recently having a new extension added to the Phoenix Youth Centre, Bury, there was a large wall available that could accomodate a mural. A group of young people wanted to create a colourful image that was a representation of the centre users and the area they are living in.
Artist Sean Creagh worked with a group of young people from the centre to explore this idea and produce a piece of work that would help create a sense of ownership for the young people.
The group really enjoyed the process and were very proud of the finished piece. Comments from the group:
'All of it was so much fun. I really enjoyed the whole week and really liked the finished product.'
'We got to use spray cans and use our imagination and do what we wanted.'
