Taster Delight

VIEW PROJECT GALLERY

In partnership with the YMCA and Wesley Hall refugee and asylum seekers support programme, Action Factory worked with a group of young people on a series of arts sessions. The project began with a day of tasters, where young people tried video and photography, jewellery making, music and drama with the intention of choosing one to continue as a four week project.

All of the workshops were a real success and the young people decided to continue the project with one session of each art form.

The sessions have been fun and experimental and resulted in great artworks, music, new skills, confidence and friendships.

The group are keen to continue and would love to focus on the digital media and performance, particularly video and music.

The project was funded by the Blackburn with Darwen Youth Opportunities and Youth Capital fund.

Some quotes from the young people,

"I learned to take nice pictures and make things. I learned more."

"Nice to get confidence doing drama"

"It was funny and interesting"
